Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking an Enterprise Data Governance Lead to partner with Technologies, Product, Engineering and business stakeholders in Manchester. You will shape governance, data assets, and accountability models across the data lifecycle, enabling trusted, accessible data for critical business needs.

You will drive cataloging, standard definitions, and KPI governance while working with Privacy and InfoSec to ensure compliant data handling and audit readiness across global travel data domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in data-related field required.
• 5+ years building data governance frameworks and data products.
• Experience with data owner/steward accountability models and decision rights.
• Familiarity with governance tools and data cataloging platforms.
• Knowledge of semantic layer and KPI standardization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define ownership and accessibility for datasets to enable cross-functional use.
• Develop data governance framework, quality, and lineage standards.
• Govern data contracts and protect data as a strategic asset.
• Operate data cataloging and self-service data discovery for product teams.
• Collaborate with Privacy and InfoSec on data handling and protection.
• Support audit readiness and governance maturity initiatives.
