Job summary

Thomas Middlecott Academy in the United Kingdom is recruiting an Examinations Administrator to oversee the smooth operation of all internal and external examinations in line with JCQ regulations and awarding body rules. The role includes liaising with boards, distributing examination information, and organizing invigilators.

You will manage the Bromcom MIS, run data reports for senior staff, help schedule the academy timetable, and ensure timely statutory returns.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an examination role with excellent communication skills at a range of levels.
  • Educated to GCSE level/ NVQ-level 2 or equivalent, including English and Mathematics.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the smooth running of internal and external examinations in accordance with JCQ regulations and awarding body rules.
  • Liaise with examination boards to ensure accurate administration of examinations and coursework requirements.
  • Disseminate examination information to staff, pupils and parents/carers, including timetables and guidelines.
  • Complete examination entries and securely store and send completed papers to external boards, meeting deadlines.
  • Organise external invigilators, including training and maintaining up-to-date information.
  • Manage the MIS system (Bromcom) for the academy; input data, run reports to highlight trends and risks.
  • Work with the Central Data Team on timetable creation and implementation.
  • Ensure statutory returns are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support the Central Data Team in liaising with suppliers of analytical data systems.
  • This is a permanent role working 37 hours a week 39 weeks a year - Term Time Only

Job description

To be responsible for the overall smooth running of internal and external examinations, ensuring that all related administration and preparation is undertaken in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations (on behalf of the JCQ member awarding bodies) and/or awarding body rules for exam administration in a consistent and secure fashion, thereby helping to maintain the integrity of the assessment process

To liaise with examination boards to ensure the accurate administration of all examinations, including ensuring compliance with examination board rules, coursework requirements

To disseminate examination information to staff, pupils and parents/carers, including exam and invigilation timetables, guidelines and querying results.

Complete examination entries and securely store and send completed examination papers to external examination boards ensuring all deadlines are met.

Organise the academy’s external invigilators, including training and ensuring up-to-date information is provided to them.

Be responsible for the local management of the MIS System (Bromcom) for a large Secondary Academy.

Input data, check information and run reports for Principals, Area Data Manager, Area Data Officer and Improvement Cluster Leads to help highlight trends, results, best practice and potential risks.

Work with the Central Data Team in the creation and implementation of the academy timetable

Be responsible for ensuring that statutory returns are completed accurately and on time.

To support the Central Data Team in liaisons with suppliers of analytical data systems to help develop appropriate systems

This is a permanent role working 37 hours a week 39 weeks a year - Term Time Only

Who we are looking for

Educated to GCSE level/ NVQ-level 2 or equivalent, including English and Mathematics

Experience in an examination role with excellent communication skills at a range of levels.

Good people skills with an ability to command the respect of students and collaborate effectively with staff.

Good communication skills and good command of spoken and written English

Proven experience in maintaining accurate records and the safe storage of confidential information

An understanding of how to use ICT to support learning and record keeping.
