Job summary

University of Bath invites applications for a Data and Evaluation Officer within the Wessex Inspiration Network (WIN). You will lead the evaluation plan, manage data collection and analysis, and work with partners to demonstrate the impact of outreach and widening participation across the South West.

You will help embed robust evaluation across the project lifecycle and translate findings into practical recommendations for future programmes, with a focus on reducing inequalities and informing

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of quantitative research and advanced data analysis.
  • Experience of developing or using Theory of Change approaches and Equality of Opportunity Risk Registers.
  • Experience of interrogating datasets to support planning, monitoring and decision‑making.
  • Experience of writing reports and presenting findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and data management skills.
  • Ability to collect, clean and analyse both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Knowledge of widening participation and current issues within higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of WIN’s evaluation plan and ensure alignment with Uni Connect requirements and frameworks.
  • Evaluate reach, effectiveness and impact of WIN’s programmes and interventions using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Collaborate with Head of WIN, consortium partners and external stakeholders to embed evaluation across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure findings translate into practical recommendations for future programme design and delivery.
  • Oversee data collection, management, QA, analysis and reporting, including HEAT submissions.
  • Contribute to regional Theory of Change development and Equality of Opportunity Risk Register.
