Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is recruiting three Data Engineers for a major data transformation programme in a secure public-sector environment in Telford. The role is hybrid, 2 days onsite, paying £460 per day inside IR35 on a 6-month contract.

You will design, build and optimise SAS-based data pipelines, migrate from SAS 9.4/SAS Viya to Viya 4 on AWS, and collaborate with SAS Developers, Architects and QA in an Agile DevOps setup.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building ETL pipelines for SAS Viya migrations.
• Proficient in SAS 9.4/Viya and cloud data migrations.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation and validation.
• Hands-on AWS experience with containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL/data pipelines to support migration to SAS Viya 4.
• Build and optimise data flows within a cloud-native AWS environment.
• Refactor existing SAS processes for Viya 4 compatibility.
• Develop data transformation, validation and quality processes.
• Automate data ingestion and processing workflows.
• Integrate pipelines into CI/CD environments using Jenkins and Git.
• Implement monitoring and alerting for data quality and pipeline health.
• Support testing, UAT and production readiness activities.
• Work collaboratively within Agile and DevOps teams.

We are currently recruiting for three Data Engineers to join a major data transformation and migration programme within a secure public-sector environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Data Engineers to work on a large-scale migration from SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya 3.5 to SAS Viya 4 on AWS, helping to design, build and optimise the data pipelines and integration processes required to support the transition.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing robust, scalable data pipelines and supporting the migration and transformation of data between legacy and modern SAS environments.

You will work closely with SAS Developers, Architects, Business Analysts and Test teams to ensure data integrity, performance, security and quality throughout the migration.
