Job summary

Investigo is seeking a Data Engineer with Active SC clearance to support a SAS Viya migration project. The role involves designing and optimising ETL pipelines, data migration and governance in a large-scale environment.

You will work in a West Midlands-based hybrid setup, engaging with architects, developers and analysts to ensure production readiness and quality, with a daily rate of up to £470 and Inside IR35 terms.

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance held by a government agency.
• Extensive ETL and data integration experience using SAS Data Integration, Pentaho or Talend.
• Proven SAS 9.4, SAS Viya 3.x/4 experience, preferably in migration projects.
• Data migration, transformation, quality management and performance tuning in large-scale environments.
• Strong SQL, Python and scripting for data processing and automation.
• Experience building automated data workflows and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins).
• Knowledge of AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing data governance, security and GDPR controls.
• Understanding of data modelling and scalable platform design.
• Collaborative work with architects, developers, analysts and testers in Agile delivery.
• Desirable: SAS/AWS certifications; government/regulated environments; data virtualization like Denodo.

Data Engineer – Active SC, SAS Viya Migration Up to £470 per day – Inside IR35 West Midlands / Hybrid 6 months

Key Skills & Requirements

• Active SC Clearance held by a Government Agency.
• Strong experience designing, building and optimising ETL/data integration pipelines using SAS Data Integration, Pentaho, Talend or similar tools.
• Proven experience working with SAS 9.4, SAS Viya 3.x and/or SAS Viya 4, ideally supporting migration or transformation projects.
• Expertise in data migration, data transformation, validation, data quality management and performance tuning within large-scale environments.
• Strong hands-on skills with SQL, Python and scripting for data processing and automation.
• Experience developing automated data workflows and integrating pipelines into CI/CD environments using Git, Jenkins and DevOps best practices.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services, cloud-native architectures, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing monitoring, alerting and governance controls to ensure data integrity, security, GDPR compliance and operational resilience.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, integration patterns and scalable data platform design.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts and test teams to support migration, UAT and production readiness activities.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Desirable: SAS and/or AWS certifications, experience within government or highly regulated environments, and knowledge of Denodo or other data virtualisation technologies.
