Job summary

Ocado Technology is seeking a data platform engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data platform components across the full technology stack, with a focus on pipeline orchestration and data transformation.

You will collaborate with data practitioners, platform engineers, and partner teams to deliver reliable platform features, drive design decisions, and contribute to continuous improvements in governance and security.

Qualifications

Proven track record delivering scalable data engineering solutions using cloud-native tools.
Strong communication and ability to work across engineering, product, and data functions.
Delivery-focused mindset with emphasis on maintainability, security, and operational excellence in platform engineering.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver platform features that support diverse data workflows.
Design, build, and maintain scalable data platform components across the stack, focusing on pipeline orchestration and data transformation.
Contribute to code reviews, testing, deployment, and operational support for platform services.
Stay current with trends in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and tooling; bring new ideas when appropriate.
Act as a platform advocate, partnering with product and engineering teams for adoption of services.
Mentor team members and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
