Job summary

Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data & AI function and contribute to the enterprise DataHub platform. You will design and build data models and pipelines that power trusted reporting, analytics and AI use cases.

You'll work with analysts and data scientists across the business, ensuring scalable, well-governed data solutions that meet operational and decision-making needs, using modern Microsoft technologies in a hybrid London-based role.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering data engineering solutions within an enterprise or large-scale environment.
• Strong SQL and data transformation skills.
• Experience supporting reporting and analytics platforms such as Power BI.
• Knowledge of Medallion Architecture and analytical data modelling patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high-quality data models and pipelines within the DataHub platform.
• Develop, maintain and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric pipelines.
• Collaborate with analysts to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
• Ensure data models are scalable, well documented and governance-aligned.
• Contribute to data quality and AI workloads.
