Job summary

PHMG is expanding its Data Engineering team to modernise its data platform and improve data quality across the organisation. We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong SQL and Python skills to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines, contributing to a modern cloud data platform.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable data solutions, apply CI/CD practices and help evolve PHMG's Data Strategy in a hybrid Manchester-based role.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills with complex queries and data transformations.
• Strong Python skills for data processing and automation.
• Proven experience designing and building data pipelines with ETL/ELT.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms and orchestration tools; Microsoft data ecosystem advantageous.
• Experience modelling data for reporting/analytics, including dimensional modelling.
• Experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD, testing, monitoring and error handling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and datasets.
• Play a key role in developing Microsoft Fabric data platform.
• Contribute to data warehouse, lakehouse and data integration solutions.
• Apply engineering practices across source control, CI/CD, testing, documentation and monitoring.
• Develop data models to support reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and other teams to improve data architecture and platform performance.
• Work with Reporting, Insights and Data Science teams to deliver data solutions.
