Job summary

Govia Thameslink Railway is seeking a Data Architect to define and assure the logical and physical data architecture of the DataHub platform. You will work across a landscape with 300+ systems, 50+ data sources and 40+ data products to support reporting, analytics and AI workloads.

You will provide architectural leadership, ensure data is structured, scalable and governed, and collaborate with Platform Leads and subject matter experts to evolve the data architecture for the UK rail operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in data modelling, data warehousing and modern lakehouse architectures.
• Proven ability to design enterprise-scale analytical data platforms.
• Strong governance and scalable platform design understanding.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the data architecture roadmap for the DataHub platform.
• Design and govern common data models, conforming dimensions and shared datasets.
• Provide architectural oversight of ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion patterns and partitioning strategies.
• Collaborate with data engineering, platform and analytics teams to ensure scalability and cost efficiency.
