Job summary
Aviva plc is seeking a Data Engineer in the UK to join the Commercial Data Engineering team in Norwich or Perth. You will design, build and optimise data pipelines and data products on a strategic cloud platform, enabling trusted data for underwriting, pricing and analytics.
The role focuses on Snowflake, DBT, Airflow and AWS, with collaboration across engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to solve complex data challenges and drive AI-informed decisions.
Qualifications
- Strong SQL and Python skills for building and optimizing data pipelines.
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms (DBT, Snowflake, Airflow, AWS).
- Knowledge of data modelling and Data Product principles with governance.
- Curious and innovative mindset, willing to adopt AI coding tools.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate requirements to technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and optimise data pipelines and data products.
- Work on Aviva UK's General Insurance Commercial Data Engineering platform.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, architects and business stakeholders to deliver trusted data.
