Job summary

eTeam seeks a Data Engineer for the ITEC programme in Telford with 2 days onsite. The role focuses on developing ETL artefacts, notably using Talend, and working with Oracle RDS databases. You will participate in testing, defects resolution, and production support within an established Talend framework.

Applicants should have hands-on experience with Talend and Oracle RDS, plus SQL and GitLab pipelines. Mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with the Lead engineer are expected

Qualifications

• Experience with ETL tooling (Talend preferred).
• Experience with Oracle RDS databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop project artefacts including Talend jobs, Oracle DDL/SQL, GitLab pipelines.
• Investigate and resolve defects/issues raised during testing phases.
• Review colleagues' development and test artefacts.
• Provide production promotion and warranty support.
• Conduct component testing of artefacts and test data creation.
• Support QAs in testing phases and debugging issues.
• Create and execute test packs for component test automation.
• Support performance testing phase.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and mentor junior engineers.
• Report to Lead engineer and participate in scrum-of-scrum discussions.

Job Description:

Demand on the in the ITEC programme area has increased dramatically necessitating developers to support the build activities for MCF Deletion and Retention project.

This developer role will be primarily working on Talend and Oracle RDS systems, within our existing Talend framework and patterns. Experience of ETL tooling will be needed, preferably Talend but Pentaho/Informatica experience will be transferable. Experience working in Oracle RDS databases will also be required.

Job spec:

• Develop project artefacts including (but not limited to) Talend jobs, Oracle DDL and SQL, GitLab Pipeline enhancements
• Investigate and resolve any defects/issues raised during testing phases.
• Review colleagues development and test artefacts.
• Support for Production promotion and warranty' support
• Conduct Component Testing of developed artefacts (including test data creation)
• Support QAs in conducting test phases and debugging issues identified throughout the development life cycle
• Create and execute test packs for Component Test automation
