Job summary

Data Careers is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer for a 6-month contract based in Malvern with hybrid working (home 2 days, onsite 3 days per week).

You will contribute to a major Defence digital transformation programme, delivering end-to-end data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and cloud-based data engineering using Python, SQL, Databricks and AWS.

SC Clearance is required; daily rate £600–£700 Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• SC Clearance required for central government programme.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data engineering tasks.
• Experience with Databricks and AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT and building data pipelines.
• Experience in data engineering within government/defence projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Collaborate on a Defence digital transformation programme.
• Work across on-site and home environments as part of hybrid model.
