Job summary

Heart Academies Trust in Bedford is seeking a qualified Science teacher to ensure consistent assessment across Science, track student progress and raise attainment. You will inform leadership of development needs and contribute to the science improvement plan.

The role requires a Degree with QTS (or working towards), two+ years of secondary teaching experience, and up-to-date knowledge of GCSE Science, KS3 and KS2. You will differentiate lessons and support SEN/EAL learners. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Degree, QTS (or working towards)
• Successful secondary teaching experience in at least 2 key stages
• Knowledge of Science: GCSE, KS3, KS2
• Ability to rapidly impact students' numeracy skills
• Experience teaching a full range of abilities including SEN and EAL
• High expectations and impact on learning outcomes
• Willingness to be accountable for student outcomes
• DBS checks if applicable

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent application of the Academy's assessment approach for Science, tracking progress and ensuring understanding across staff.
• Monitor provision across Science classes and inform the Director of Achievement of development areas.
• Demonstrate how effective Science provision can improve learning and outcomes.
• Research and develop new ideas and resources for dissemination within the learning village.
• Lead the promotion and development of students' character through Science.
