Monzo is seeking a Data Director in Payments to shape our data strategy, product decisions and commercial outcomes across a fast-growing payments business. You will lead a full-stack data team, partner with Product, Engineering and Risk, and drive data-enabled product innovation in a remote-friendly, UK-wide role.

Qualifications

• Experience driving payments innovation and product strategy in a fast-growing business.
• Deep data expertise with strong product and commercial judgement.
• Ability to translate metrics, architecture and product strategy into business outcomes.
• Empathetic people leader who can build trust and raise performance.
• Experience growing and leading a full-stack data team across ICs and managers.
• Proven collaboration with senior stakeholders in product, engineering, design, marketing and risk.

Responsibilities

• Establish yourself as a trusted member of the Payments Leadership team, enabling better decisions across Payments and the wider Data Discipline.
• Co-drive Payments strategy and product decisions with Product and Engineering, bringing Data into discovery early to shape priorities and challenge thinking.
• Identify untapped opportunities for commercial optimisation across pricing, monetisation and customer growth.
• Set the data strategy for Payments, including operating model, priorities, architecture, technical debt and key metrics.
• Translate between technical, product and commercial perspectives to help teams make high-impact decisions.
• Develop and scale a high-performing team of data professionals sharing accountability for product and business outcomes.
