Job summary

The Growth Company in the UK is seeking a Data Coordinator to support the Data Manager in maximising accurate data capture, reporting, and maintaining database quality across the Made Smarter Programme. You will help produce timely management information and support programme administration.

You will have strong IT skills, advanced Excel, and experience building Power BI dashboards, with a focus on data integrity and clarity for stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify insights for performance management.
  • Strong data governance and privacy awareness (GDPR preferred).
  • Experience working with CRM systems and management information systems.

Job description

The Growth Company’s (GC) Made Smarter team have an exciting new opportunity for a Data Coordinator to join our Made Smarter team. The successful candidate will support the Data Manager to maximise accurate data capture and reporting and to maintain database quality and consistency allowing informed decision making by the wider Made Smarter Adoption NW team. You will provide support to the day-to-day programme financial and contractual administration across all the Made Smarter Programmes, current and future.

The Made Smarter programme leads the UK’s ambition to grow manufacturing through the adoption of Industrial Digital Technology. At the Growth Company, we deliver Made Smarter in the Northwest, working with delivery and strategic partners to support local manufacturers. We provide expert advice, funding, and skills support to help businesses adopt advanced digital technologies, improve productivity, resilience and drive innovation. Through this work, we aim to strengthen competitiveness and help future‑proof the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse, interrogate and report on data to support programme performance, business objectives and informed decision‑making.
  • Produce and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that present data clearly and track key performance indicators.
  • Manage and maintain data capture, reporting systems and CRM records, ensuring accuracy, quality and compliance.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on data, resolving queries and identifying trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Support colleagues with CRM data entry, system usage and the creation of Power BI and Excel reports.
  • Prepare timely, accurate and insightful management information reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage programme administration activities, including grant offer letters, contract documentation, financial records and stakeholder agreements.
  • Maintain tracking systems, process purchase orders and invoices, and ensure all documentation is accurately filed and audit ready.

Skills Required:
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Experience working with complex data sets, databases, management information systems and CRM platforms.
  • Ability to analyse, integrate and present data to support performance management and reporting.
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
  • Sound professional judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data governance principles would be advantageous.
