You will drive growth in the critical infrastructure market, engaging senior stakeholders and shaping technically credible solutions for data centre environments.

The role demands consultative, multi-year sales experience, strong negotiation skills and the ability to translate client requirements into compelling proposals.

Qualifications

• Proven sales or business development experience in data centres or related technical markets.
• Knowledge of BMS, building controls or smart buildings.
• Ability to manage complex, solution-led sales cycles.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop data centre sales opportunities from engagement to contract award.
• Build relationships with data centre owners, operators, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Manage and expand key customer accounts while generating new business.
• Understand clients’ operational, environmental and commercial objectives.
• Develop credible building controls and infrastructure solutions.
• Produce estimates, proposals, presentations and cost-benefit analyses.
• Lead commercial negotiations and close profitable business.
• Promote service, retrofit and upgrade solutions across data centres.
• Identify opportunities for multi-year service and maintenance agreements.
• Collaborate with design, estimating, engineering and delivery teams.
• Maintain a strong pipeline and provide accurate forecasts.

Job description

A leading building technology and controls specialist is looking for an experienced Data Centre Sales Manager to support its continued growth within the critical infrastructure market.

This is a senior, consultative sales role focused on developing new opportunities, expanding strategic accounts and delivering technically robust solutions for data centre environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop data centre sales opportunities from initial engagement through to contract award
• Build long-term relationships with data centre owners, operators, consultants and project stakeholders
• Manage and expand key customer accounts while generating new business
• Understand clients’ operational, environmental and commercial objectives
• Develop technically credible and commercially competitive building controls and infrastructure solutions
• Produce accurate estimates, proposals, presentations and cost-benefit analyses
• Lead commercial negotiations, overcome objections and close profitable business
• Promote service, retrofit and upgrade solutions across existing data centre facilities
• Identify opportunities for multi-year service and maintenance agreements
• Work closely with design, estimating, engineering and project delivery teams
• Maintain a strong pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts and reporting

About You

• Proven sales or business development experience within data centres, critical infrastructure or a closely related technical market
• Strong knowledge of BMS, building controls, smart buildings, mechanical systems or critical infrastructure solutions
• Experience managing complex, solution-led sales cycles
• Confident engaging with senior technical and commercial stakeholders
• Able to translate customer requirements into compelling technical and commercial proposals
• Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship-management skills
• Commercially astute, organised and comfortable managing multiple opportunities
• Self-motivated, credible and able to operate with a high degree of independence
