Job summary

DXC Technology in Sevenoaks, Kent is seeking Data Centre Engineers to support customer equipment on-site at Sevenoaks and Maidstone sites. The role involves following detailed intervention instructions, diagnostics, and hardware replacement in a secure environment requiring SC clearance where applicable.

Candidates must pass UK government security checks, have own transport, and be fluent in English. Shift work with a generous shift allowance is offered to cover day and night coverage.

• Basic understanding of IT operations in a large organisation.
• Fluency in English (speaking, reading and writing).
• Able to meet security requirements including SC clearance eligibility.
• Own transport and driving license.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect status indicators (LEDs) on Customer Equipment and report status.
• Perform a power-cycle of Customer Equipment per written Interventions.
• Inspect cabling for proper seating and document findings.
• Test cable paths for conformance with standards per instructions.
• Mount media in identified drives as part of system builds/diagnosis.
• Replace hot-swappable components per instructions.

Job Description:We are hiring Data Centre Engineers for our client based in Sevenoaks in Kent with regular attendance at Maidstone site.This is a secure environment requiring security clearance and as a result we invite applications from UK nationals who hold or are willing to undergo SC clearance due to account requirements.The role will involve working both dayshift/nightshift hours and we offer a generous shift allowance as a result.Due to frequency of attendance at both sites, we require candidates who can drive and have their own transport.Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
