Job summary

Era4 in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Data Centre Network Engineer to support the design, deployment and operation of high-performance networking for a next-generation AI infrastructure platform.

You will work across data centre fabrics, routing, automation, and observability, partnering with platform engineering, infrastructure and AI teams to ensure scalable, secure connectivity and reliable GPU compute environments.

Qualifications

Proven experience designing, deploying and supporting data centre networks.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF and EVPN/VXLAN.
Experience with leaf-spine architectures and modern data centre fabrics.
Familiarity with Kubernetes networking and network security concepts.
Automation using Python, Ansible or Terraform in IaC approaches.

Responsibilities

Configure, manage, and troubleshoot data centre networking environments.
Support routing and switching across BGP/OSPF, VLANs and VRFs.
Work with leaf-spine, EVPN/VXLAN architectures.
Collaborate with platform and infra teams to ensure secure, scalable connectivity.
Implement and support network automation using scripting and IaC tools.
Contribute to monitoring, observability, and incident response processes.
Document configurations and changes for operational handover.
