Job summary

1st Step Solutions in West London is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead a large-scale building services installation on a new commercial data centre project valued around £40+ million. You will oversee the on-site mechanical discipline, coordinate design, procurement, and field activities, and ensure performance aligns with programme, cost, and safety requirements.

The role requires a proven track record in project management within data centre or similar sectors, CSCS/IOSH/SMSTS

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in building services.
• Experience on data centre or similar large-scale projects.
• HNC/HND Building Services or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• The primary focus is supervising the project team to meet programme, cost, safety and quality objectives.
• Overall responsibility for the Building Services installation on the project.
• Deliver a quality installation aligned with client expectations while controlling costs.
• Ensure delivery on time and within budget and manage project costs.
• Manage staff performance with clear roles and responsibilities.
• Promote Health & Safety and mitigate risks.
• Share best practice and promote innovation.
• Manage commissioning for a smooth final handover.
