Job summary
VIRTUS Data Centres in the United Kingdom is seeking a Fire Life & Safety professional to join our team. You will report to the Fire Life & Safety Manager and support multiple data centre facilities with safety systems, testing, and compliance.
The role requires hands-on knowledge of fire panels, NFPA standards, and experience with KPI reporting, SOP/EOP development, and commissioning activities. Travel to sites Mon-Fri is expected.
Qualifications
- Experience in Fire Life & Safety systems and compliance.
- Ability to travel to site Monday to Friday during working hours.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Clear and concise communication with peers and stakeholders.
- Experience with commissioning, FAT/SAT/IST activities is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Fire Life & Safety Manager for VIRTUS Data Centres and supporting infra.
- Understand and support Fire systems and components (panels, Vesda, water mist, gas suppression, extinguishers).
- Assist with compliance to BS5839-1, BS6266, NFPA 75 and related standards.
- Produce monthly KPI reports and maintain reporting dashboards.
- Develop SOP/EOP drafts and obtain sign-off as required.
- Assist commissioning of upgrades and participate in IST/ FAT activities.
- Provide escalation support for Fire & Life Safety issues.
- Support ISO policy compliance and maintenance offerings.
