Job summary

RedRock Resourcing is seeking a Junior Datacenter Engineer for the Heathrow/Slough area to join a growing team. The role requires eligibility for SC Clearance, a full UK driving license, and a willingness to travel to other sites as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring power, cooling, and safety systems; troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues; coordinating with IT, contractors, and vendors; and maintaining 24/7 operations with on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Working Knowledge of critical infrastructure, including electrical systems (switchgear, generators) and HVAC systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot systems under pressure.
• Ability to work with IT, contractors, and vendors. Keeping a cool head when others don’t
• Willingness to work on-call, weekends, or holidays to ensure 24/7 operations are met.
• Eligible for SC Clearance and hold a full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain power (UPS, generators), cooling, and fire detection/suppression systems.
• Actively diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform daily, weekly, or monthly inspections of infrastructure using PPM schedules; supervise external contractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA and site-specific policies.
• Use building management systems (BMS) to monitor systems and react to changes.
• Assist clients onto the data floor to ensure best practice in safe equipment racking.
• Travel to other sites as required during staff shortages or for projects.

A leading organisation requires a Junior Datacenter Engineer to join its growing team. Suitable candidates will have the folloiwng experience:

• Technical Expertise: Working Knowledge of critical infrastructure, including electrical systems (switchgear, generators) and HVAC systems.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot systems under pressure.
• Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work with IT, contractors, and vendors. Keeping a cool head when others don’t
• Flexibility: Willingness to work on-call, weekends, or holidays to ensure 24/7 operations are met.

As mentioned above, suitable candidates will have a working knowledge of LV Electrical systems, HVAC and Security Systems.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preventative Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, or monthly inspections of infrastructure using PPM Schedules. Working on site with external contractors and supervising contractors for repairs.

• Monitoring & Reporting: Use building management systems (BMS) to monitor, systems and react to changes
