Job summary

TGS International Group in Manchester is seeking an experienced Data Centre Engineer to join a small, skilled team responsible for day-to-day operation, maintenance and support of a critical Data Centre environment for a prestigious international financial organisation.

You will perform installations, decommissions, moves, changes, fault-finding and ensure safety, SLAs and client standards. The role requires multi-skilled IT infrastructure knowledge and resilience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working within a Data Centre environment.
• Experience in high-availability or critical IT environments.
• Ability to install, rack, patch and decommission hardware.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with change control and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Data Centre operations, installations and maintenance.
• Carry out racking, stacking, moves, changes and decommissioning.
• Plan and implement IT hardware installations per Data Centre standards.
• Coordinate structured cabling and inter-rack work.
• Monitor SLAs, tickets and service delivery across the environment.
• Support incident management and first-line fault resolution.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams.
• Manage Data Centre assets and documentation.
• Work with vendors and facilities teams to ensure safe operations.
