Job summary

DXC Technology is hiring Data Centre Engineers for a crucial Sevenoaks-based role, with attendance at Maidstone site as needed. The position requires eligibility for SC clearance and a driving presence due to multi-site requirements.

You will visually inspect hardware, perform power-cycles, check cabling, and assist with diagnostics using a KVM setup.

  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading and writing).
  • Ability to work precisely and quality oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect status indicators (LEDs) on Customer Equipment and report status to Customer.
  • Perform a power-cycle of an item of Customer Equipment per written instructions.
  • Inspect cabling for proper seating per provided instructions.
  • Test cable paths for conformance with performance standards.
  • Connect a Crash Cart (KVM) to assist diagnosis of failed reboots or power cycles.
  • Mount media in identified drives as part of system builds or diagnosis.
  • Activate hardware controls per instructions and replace hot-swappable components.
