Job summary

CBRE Local UK in London seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Global Workplace Solutions team. The role focuses on breakdown maintenance, power systems, UPS, and data centre environments. You will respond to incidents, perform diagnostics, and maintain critical equipment and records.

Essential qualifications include 18th Edition, City & Guilds levels 2 and 3, an electrical apprenticeship, and Part 1/2. A strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and extended hours will apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations.
• City and Guilds Level 2 & 3.
• Electrical Apprenticeship.
• Electrical Part 1 and 2.

Responsibilities

• React to breakdown maintenance requests within the required SLAs.
• Technical awareness of data centre operations and power systems (UPS, CPS, distribution, cooling).
• Repairs to modular UPS systems.
• Test and diagnose power quality issues using onsite analysers.
• Apply a risk-focused maintenance approach on plant and systems in critical environments.
• Provide emergency response standby and call out.
• Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager.
• Respond to work interruptions, outages or emergencies per SLA.
• Maintain all critical engineering maintenance documentation and records.
• Advise Facilities Management on changes in critical environment requirements.
• Be willing to work extended hours beyond contractual times.
• Undertake site surveys and produce Works Requests, Method Statements & Risk Assessments.
• Undertake upgrade and installation work.
• Interpret technical drawings, instructions, and O&Ms.
• Ensure completion of reactive Helpdesk requests.
• Monitor environmental conditions and loading of critical equipment.
• Ensure financial processes are adhered to.
• Draft incident reports within 24 business hours and determine root causes.
