Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain data center hardware and server software. You will work on networks, routers, hubs, and switches, and participate in small project teams for installations.

Qualifications

Experience with assembling mechanical or electrical systems or repairing on technical equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
Experience with networking protocols.
Ability to lift 23 kg (50 lb) and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment or infrastructure.
Maintain the security and integrity of data, follow Google security standards.
Disassemble equipment at end-of-life via part replacement or maintenance.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure.
