AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access for our customers. You’ll join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. You’ll collaborate across AWS to uphold safety and security standards while providing high capacity at low costs. Our inclusive culture encourages bold ideas and ownership.

As a Data Center Facility Manager at Amazon Web Services, you will manage the world’s largest cloud infrastructure, solving complex problems and driving operational excellence. You will hire and develop a team of data center experts and technicians. We are looking for a Facility Manager in Berkshire / West London area.

Key job responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to and exceed Health & Safety standards in all Data Centers
  • Manage and develop engineering teams, providing technical and leadership support to ensure high performance
  • Maintain existing Amazon Data Centers for maximum availability
  • Assist in building and launching new Data Centers
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors
  • Liaise with internal teams and management
  • Create and use metrics to drive improvements
  • Implement service management practices such as incident, problem, change, and capacity management

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in critical Data Centre Operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDU, chillers, pumps, and air handling units
  • Proven leadership in managing and developing teams, ensuring staff readiness through skills and process development
  • Problem-solving skills with a broad understanding of the context
  • Experience in data centers or mission-critical environments (e.g., hospitals, power plants, military facilities)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced electrical or mechanical qualifications; a Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant engineering disciplines
  • Full EU/UK driving license
