Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, to ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud services they rely on. We work on complex challenges with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and are seeking talented individuals to join our team.

You will be part of a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your role involves ensuring safety standards, managing teams, maintaining data center operations, and improving processes. You will also collaborate with external vendors and internal teams, and utilize metrics to drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure adherence to and exceed Health & Safety standards in all Data Centers.
2. Manage and develop engineering teams, providing technical and leadership support.
3. Maintain high levels of availability for existing Amazon Data Centers.
4. Assist in building and commissioning new Data Centers.
5. Continuously improve processes and procedures.
6. Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
7. Liaise with internal teams and management.
8. Create and analyze metrics to drive positive changes.
9. Implement service management methodologies such as incident, problem, change, and capacity management.

Basic Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in critical Data Centre Operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, UPS, chillers, and air handling units.
• Proven experience in managing and developing teams.
• Problem-solving skills with a broad understanding of operational contexts.
• Experience working in data centers or mission-critical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced electrical or mechanical qualifications; a Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering is preferred.
• Full EU/UK driving license.
