A leading company is seeking a Data Architect for a short-term engagement to design a scalable data architecture benefiting UK public services. The role involves reviewing existing data frameworks, integrating with external systems, and ensuring compliance with governance and privacy standards. We are currently looking for a Data Architect to join us on a short-term, high-impact engagement.

Review existing data models, flows, and repositories used in current house buying and selling processes.
Define a scalable, secure, and interoperable data architecture to support early and future phases of the service.
Identify opportunities for data integration with external systems such as land records, planning systems, and local authority platforms.
Ensure alignment with relevant data standards , governance frameworks, and privacy regulations.
Partner with Data Engineers to support prototyping and testing of key data pipelines and flows.
Contribute to development of performance metrics and success frameworks through improved data structuring and availability.
Support the creation of data governance approaches , covering ownership, access control, and quality assurance.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and contribute to stakeholder engagement activities related to data strategy.
Proven experience in data architecture , particularly in large-scale or public service contexts.
Strong understanding of data modelling , API design , integration patterns, and secure data handling practices.
Familiarity with open data standards , privacy requirements, and data management frameworks.
Ability to clearly communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences .
Experience working in collaborative, Agile teams alongside service designers, developers, analysts, and delivery managers.
Experience with tools or technologies such as PostgreSQL , SQL Server , or ORM frameworks .
Knowledge of property, housing, or planning data systems.
Exposure to early-phase digital service design (e.g., Discovery or Alpha stages).
