Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Strategy
  • Own and evolve the end‑to‑end data architecture aligned to Cooper Parry’s strategy and enterprise standards.
  • Define architectural patterns, principles, and standards for data ingestion, transformation, modelling, analytics and reporting.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on data architecture decisions.
Microsoft Fabric Platform Leadership
  • Design and oversee solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, lakehouse and warehouse architectures, data pipelines, Spark/Notebooks, and semantic models.
  • Ensure platform scalability, performance optimisation, cost efficiency, and security.
  • Guide the transition from legacy platforms where applicable.
Data Engineering & Integration
  • Provide technical leadership across data engineering practices, including batch and streaming data pipelines, ELT/ETL frameworks, and CI/CD for data platforms.
  • Architect robust integrations from internal and third‑party systems.
  • Define data quality, validation, and monitoring standards.
Governance, Security & Quality
  • Define and enforce data governance frameworks, master and reference data strategies, access control and role‑based security.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and organisational security standards.
  • Promote high data quality and lineage transparency.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, BI Developers, and product and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor and upskill team members.
  • Review solution designs and provide constructive architectural guidance.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with architectural responsibility.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Deep understanding of modern data lakehouse architectures, dimensional and analytical data modelling, data pipeline orchestration, strong SQL skills, and distributed data processing.
  • Experience designing enterprise‑scale analytics platforms in Azure.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Desirable: experience integrating and modelling professional services data, familiarity with Power BI semantic models and DAX, and experience with Azure ecosystem services (e.g., Azure AD, monitoring, networking).
  • Experience operating in agile product or platform teams and designing data architectures and integrations for CRM and professional services platforms such as Salesforce.
