Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Data Services team. You will deliver high-quality analysis, reporting and data visualisation across the organisation, turning complex data into clear insights and supporting the modern data platform.

You will collaborate with colleagues from multiple services to maximise data value, contribute to Power BI development and support data governance and data quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of working with data and ability to apply it in practice.
• Demonstrable knowledge of one or more of the listed technical areas: Power BI, SQL/T-SQL/PL/SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, SSRS or SSIS.
• Experience with data governance, data protection and confidentiality is essential.
• Experience on small to medium projects and willingness to learn new technical areas.

Responsibilities

• Understand what colleagues need from data and cleanse information for analysis.
• Develop a Power BI report turning complex data into clear narratives.
• Contribute to data governance, quality assurance, and data linkage activities.
• Support development and rollout of Power BI across the organisation and data platform.

Education

Two A levels

HNC/HND

NVQ Level 4 or equivalent

Degree or equivalent (desirable)
