Job summary

Howden UK&I is seeking a data analyst to support a large-scale policy admin system migration on an 18-month fixed-term contract. You will analyse data, monitor KPIs before and after migration, and provide data-driven insight to guide decisions.

The team is remote but occasional in-person collaboration is encouraged. The role requires strong SQL/Databricks skills and experience with personal lines insurance data, with desriable Python and Acturis/Applied Epic familiarity.

Qualifications

  • Essential: SQL, Databricks, experience with personal lines insurance products, insurance datasets and policy admin systems.
  • Experience investigating and resolving data anomalies and defects, and clear communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with ability to handle complex projects independently.
  • Desirable: Python, Acturis and Applied Epic; experience in insurance broking and large-scale migrations.

Responsibilities

  • Manipulate, analyse, and interpret large datasets to uncover insights for project decisions.
  • Communicate insights clearly to colleagues across the organisation with actionable recommendations.
  • Identify and upscale data quality issues, migration risks, and performance impacts affecting customers and operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams, technology partners and vendors to meet migration requirements.
  • Support migration testing by validating data integrity across legacy and target systems.
  • Produce clear analyses showing migration impacts and remediation priorities.
  • Contribute to design and improvement of reporting, dashboards and analytics throughout the migration.
