Job summary

Howden Group Holdings is seeking a data analyst to join the UK&I data team on an 18-month fixed-term contract to support a large-scale policy admin system migration. You will prepare data and processes, monitor KPIs, and provide data-driven insight to proactively identify risks throughout the migration lifecycle.

Remote team with occasional in-person meetups; you’ll collaborate with business stakeholders, technology partners and vendors to ensure successful delivery and informed decision-making

Qualifications

• Essential SQL and Databricks.
• Experience with personal lines insurance products.
• Experience with insurance datasets and policy admin systems.
• Experience investigating and resolving data anomalies and defects.
• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-starter with ability to jump into complex projects.
• Desirable: Python.
• Experience with Acturis and/or Applied Epic.
• Experience in insurance broking space.
• Experience supporting system migrations, transformation programmes or large-scale change initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manipulate, analyse, and interpret large datasets to uncover insights and support commercial and operational decision‑making relating to the project.
• Communicate insights clearly to colleagues across the organisation, turning complex findings into actionable recommendations.
• Proactively identify, investigate and elevate data quality issues, migration risks and performance impacts that could affect customers, trading performance, operational processes or regulatory outcomes.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, technology partners and external vendors to understand migration requirements and support successful delivery.
• Support migration testing activities by validating data integrity, completeness and accuracy across legacy and target systems.
• Produce clear and actionable analysis that enables stakeholders to understand migration impacts, make informed decisions and prioritise remediation activities where required.
• Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of reporting, dashboards and analytical processes used throughout the migration programme.
