Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Solution Architect (Data and AI Platform) to lead the design and evolution of the Operational Data Platform. You will architect Snowflake-based data warehouse solutions, develop AI-enabled capabilities, and collaborate with engineering, data, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable data platform capabilities that support strategic outcomes.

You will work with an embedded engineering team to drive API-led integration, real-time ingestion, and governance,

Qualifications

Significant experience in software development, solution architecture or data-platform architecture.
Strong experience designing Snowflake data warehouse solutions across the Snowflake ecosystem.
Understanding of operational technology data, assets, dependencies and end-to-end flows in a large enterprise.
Experience with data modelling and schema design (DBT/SqlDBM).
AWS architecture incl. EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda; familiarity with Azure.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture and design of Snowflake-based data warehouse solutions and dependent systems.
Develop next-generation platform capabilities including real-time ingestion and API-led integration.
Design data structures enabling natural-language querying and GenAI use cases.
Establish secure, standardised best practices across data warehousing, integration and AI tooling.
Define inter-system data flows, roadmaps and governance standards.
