Job summary

Mears Group plc in Glasgow is seeking a skilled Damp, Mould & Condensation Supervisor to lead a social housing contract. The role blends supervisory leadership with practical trade duties, overseeing damp, mould and condensation works across occupied and void properties.

You will coordinate operatives and subcontractors, monitor quality, ensure safety standards and timely delivery, and maintain strong resident communications and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade background in joinery, plastering, plumbing, roofing or general property maintenance.
• Experience in repairs and maintenance within social housing or occupied properties.
• Practical knowledge of damp, mould and condensation issues and their remediation.
• Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a hands-on role.
• Ability to diagnose building issues and coordinate remedial works.
• Strong health and safety awareness and COSHH understanding.
• Excellent communication with residents and colleagues.
• Able to lead, coach and supervise operatives while performing practical duties.
• Good organisational skills to manage priorities and deadlines.
• Full UK driving license

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across properties.
• Carry out practical trade works alongside operatives when needed.
• Review job information and plans before works commence.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor quality and compliance.
• Coordinate operatives and subcontractors across trades.
• Allocate resources and manage schedules to minimise resident disruption.
• Monitor performance and provide coaching and guidance daily.
• Deliver toolbox talks and on-site training to the team.
• Ensure works are completed safely, to standard and documented.
• Escalate urgent issues involving hazards or vulnerable residents.
