Job summary

Plymouth Community Homes is seeking a supervisor to lead damp and disrepair work across its stock. The role involves inspecting properties, diagnosing defects, overseeing repairs and managing contractors, with direct contact with residents. A full UK driving licence is required.

Ideal candidates will have experience in property repairs, maintenance or surveying and be ready to take on supervisory responsibilities within a housing association.

Qualifications

• Experience in property repairs, maintenance, construction, surveying or a similar property setting.
• Experience identifying defects and finding practical solutions.
• Strong knowledge of property repairs and building maintenance.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead damp and disrepair work across housing stock.
• Inspect occupied and empty properties and diagnose defects.
• Draw up schedules of work and repair specifications.
• Oversee repairs, minor improvements and planned maintenance projects.
• Monitor contractors against quality standards.
• Carry out health and safety inspections.
• Coach and develop colleagues and drive service improvements.
