Job summary

Build Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Damp & Mould Operative to join a social housing maintenance team in North West London, performing damp and mould remedial works across occupied properties. This is an immediate, ongoing temporary role for approximately 6–8 weeks with full-time hours.

The role involves inspecting damp causes, treating mould, damp-proofing, plastering and painting, while minimising disruption to tenants. A full UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in damp and mould treatment or property maintenance.
• Social housing or occupied residential properties experience.
• Multi-trade capability: plastering, painting, basic repairs.
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, treat and remediate damp and mould issues in social housing properties.
• Carry out damp and mould treatment works in occupied properties.
• Clean and treat mould-affected areas and apply mould washes and anti-mould treatments.
• Carry out damp-proofing and remedial works as required, including plastering and painting.
• Install ventilation solutions and perform minor repairs with minimal tenant disruption.
• Update job information using PDA systems and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Rate: £22.52 per hour CIS
Contract: Temporary 6 8 weeks' work

Build Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Damp & Mould Operative to join a social housing maintenance team, carrying out damp and mould remedial works across North West London.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced operative looking for immediate, ongoing work for approximately 6 8 weeks, working across occupied residential properties.

The Role

As a Damp & Mould Operative, you will be responsible for identifying, treating and remediating damp and mould issues within social housing properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspections to identify causes of damp and mould, including condensation, penetrating damp and leaks.
• Undertaking damp and mould treatment works within occupied social housing properties.
• Cleaning and treating mould-affected areas.
• Applying mould washes, anti-mould treatments and stain-blocking paint systems.
• Carrying out damp-proofing and remedial works where required.
• Hacking off damaged plaster and preparing surfaces for remedial works.
• Carrying out making-good works, including patch plastering, painting and decorating.
• Installing ventilation solutions and carrying out minor remedial repairs.
• Working within occupied properties while minimising disruption to tenants.
• Providing clear advice to residents regarding damp, mould, condensation and prevention.
• Using PDA systems to update job information and record completed works.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment.
• Completing all works in accordance with health & safety requirements and company standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in damp and mould treatment or property maintenance.
• Good understanding of the causes of damp, mould and condensation.
• Experience working within social housing or occupied residential properties.
• Ability to carry out associated multi-trade works, including plastering, painting and basic repairs.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
