Job summary
ARLA is seeking a Shift Engineer at Stourton Dairy in Leeds to provide maintenance and breakdown support across a 24/7 site. You will keep filling lines, chillers and conveyors running and drive continuous improvement, working within a skilled engineering team on cutting-edge equipment.
The role requires time-served or apprentice-trained engineering with NVQ Level 3/ONC/HNC or higher, strong RCA and fault-finding skills, and experience in FMCG manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Strong problem‑solving skills essential for rapid fault finding and RCA.
- Time-served or apprentice-trained engineering background required (NVQ Level 3/ONC/HNC or above).
- Experience in FMCG, food, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and fault-finding on CIP systems, pasteurisers, separators, homogenisers and associated equipment.
- Supporting pumps, valves, flowmeters, heat exchangers and automated control systems.
- Delivering rapid breakdown response to minimise downtime across processing, storage and filling operations.
- Champion health and safety standards and participate in risk assessments.
- Support site projects and contribute to performance improvements.
