Job summary

Ornua is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering department in the UK, supporting planned maintenance and reliability improvement across production lines. You will work to maximise plant availability, upgrade equipment, and ensure safety compliance within a fast-paced dairy environment.

This role offers a fixed night shift pattern with opportunities for double day shifts. Ornua values continuous learning, strong teamwork, and a commitment to high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical skills required.
• Experience in Engineering and Maintenance within a Food Production environment.
• Electrical control systems knowledge.
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering/Maintenance.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Working knowledge of PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, ensuring fit for purpose on a shift/daily basis.
• Report deficiencies to the Engineering Manager for action.
• Complete activities in line with the daily work plan and assist train operatives to minimise downtime.
• Support SOPs and safety procedures; attend breakdowns and perform repairs.
• Document downtime and breakdown logs and provide handover information.
• Assist with spare parts budgeting and cost control; raise purchase orders.
• Ensure housekeeping and Health & Safety standards daily.
• Follow health and safety policies and risk assessments as required.
