Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists Ltd on behalf of a well established Cheshire dairy farm is seeking an experienced Assistant Herd Manager (2IC) to join the team. The role covers milking, herd management, grassland management and supporting daily dairy operations.

Salary £40,000–£60,000, plus accommodation and benefits; current accommodation is a 3-bedroom apartment about 3 miles from the farm; rent-free accommodation with council tax covered. NVQ Level 2 required; UK work rights essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Scottish NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
• Right to work in the UK or valid visa.
• Experience in dairy herd management.

Responsibilities

• Milking and general herd management.
• Managing feed and grazing, including grass measurement.
• Herd health and fertility management.
• General stock work and yard/tractor duties.
• Bedding down animals when required.
• Support day-to-day running of the dairy operation.
