Job summary

A well established dairy farm in Cheshire is seeking an experienced Herdsperson / 2IC to join the team. You will oversee milking, herd management, feeding, grazing and general farm operations.

The role offers a salary of £40,000 to £60,000 per year, accommodation and benefits. The farm operates a grassland-based system with a Waikato rotary parlour and no robotic milking, with potential for training and development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Scottish NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
• Right to work in the UK or valid visa permitting employment.

Responsibilities

• Milking and general herd management.
• Managing feed and grazing, including grass measuring and use of a plate meter.
• Herd health and fertility.
• Yard and tractor work.
• Bedding down animals when required.
• Supporting the day to day running of the dairy operation.
