Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists in Warwickshire is seeking a reliable Assistant Herdsperson to join a grass-based dairy farm. The role covers milking duties, herd management and supporting grazing and farm operations.

You should have dairy experience and a practical approach; accommodation is provided on site. The salary ranges from £28,000 to £30,000 per year plus accommodation and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent relevant to the role.
• UK work rights or valid visa to work in the UK.
• Dairy farming experience preferred, with milking experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out milking duties and assist with daily herd management.
• Monitor cow health and welfare, identify issues such as mastitis or lameness.
• Support grazing management, grass monitoring, paddock rotations and fencing.
• Operate tractors and assist with general farm tasks as needed.
• Maintain high standards of livestock care, hygiene and biosecurity.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth day-to-day farm operations.
