Role Description

This full-time Dairy Farm Manager role is an on-site position based in Cockermouth. The Dairy Farm Manager will oversee daily operations of the dairy unit, including herd health, milking routines, feeding programs, and hygiene standards. The Dairy Farm Manager will also contribute to budgeting, resource planning, and continuous improvement of productivity, milk quality, and farm efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong farm management skills, including experience overseeing dairy operations, staff supervision, and daily farm workflows.
• Solid understanding of agriculture and livestock production, with practical experience on farms, ideally within dairy systems.
• Knowledge of irrigation and pasture management practices to support forage quality and herd nutrition.
• Experience with diversified farm enterprises such as poultry or other livestock is beneficial.
• Proficiency in basic record-keeping, data monitoring, and use of farm management tools or software.
• Ability to work on-site, take a hands-on approach, and respond quickly to operational issues.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
