Job summary

Manor House School is seeking a Design & Technology Instructor/Teacher to deliver engaging, hands-on lessons across multiple key stages. You will work with the Senior Leadership Team to raise standards, support pupil progress, and contribute to an ambitious curriculum.

You will need a strong understanding of workshop health and safety, with a passion for supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs. The role involves collaborative curriculum delivery and form tutoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering practical and theory-based D&T lessons across KS1–4.
  • Knowledge of workshop safety and safeguarding policies.
  • Ability to support SEND and SEMH needs within an inclusive curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Design & Technology teaching across Key Stages 1–4.
  • Plan and teach engaging practical and theory-based lessons in areas such as product design, resistant materials, carpentry, graphics, engineering principles and related disciplines.
  • Use resources effectively to support high standards of learning and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure effective curriculum delivery.
  • Undertake additional curriculum responsibilities as agreed with the Assistant Headteacher and Curriculum Lead.
  • Act as a form tutor and positive role model, supporting students’ academic, social, and personal development.
  • Support whole-school literacy, numeracy and life skills initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality SEND provision.
  • Work closely with parents, external agencies, and young people with SEND, including those with SEMH needs, to promote effective inclusion.

About the Role

Are you passionate about inspiring young people through creativity and practical learning? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Design & Technology Instructor/Teacher to deliver engaging, hands‑on lessons across multiple key stages.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll help raise standards, support pupil progress and contribute to an ambitious, inclusive curriculum.
