Job summary

CYGNET is seeking confident deaf support workers at Bury Dunes to provide care on adult wards with learning disability, autism, and mental health needs. Shifts include days, nights and weekends, with a 3-week induction and DBS check. Sign language ability is essential for service users.

Salary is £13.15 per hour for a full-time contract (37.5 hours/week). We offer apprenticeship opportunities, flexible overtime and a Cycle to Work scheme, along with employee discounts.

Qualifications

  • Native British Sign Language or Signature Level 2 required.
  • Full-time induction: 3 weeks, Mon-Fri 9am–5pm.
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure required.

Responsibilities

  • Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
  • Learn individuals’ specific needs and provide help appropriately.
  • Assist with medical and welfare needs and report as required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for all.
