Agincare is seeking a D-Day Museum Manager to lead the day-to-day running of a Portland museum and deliver an outstanding visitor experience. The role involves welcoming visitors, bringing the collection stories to life, and supervising a team of volunteers.

You will drive footfall and income through events, exhibitions, and engaging activities, while ensuring safety and care of the museum's collections. Weekend work may be required due to open hours.

• Commercial mindset with ability to grow income and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Leading the day-to-day operation of the museum
• Creating a welcoming, engaging and memorable visitor experience
• Recruiting, supporting and supervising volunteers and managing rotas
• Maintaining excellent standards across the museum
• Helping to grow visitor numbers and income
• Supporting events, exhibitions and fundraising activities
• Ensuring health & safety, safeguarding and operational procedures are followed
• Supporting the care and management of our collections
