Job summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is offering an NHSE funded one-year training post in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The role combines clinical work with academic study in ASD/LD, with responsibilities in inpatient settings and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

The post begins January 2027 as a full-time placement, with about 2-3 days of academic work and 2.5 days on-site with clients, while training with UCL/Anna Freud to achieve a Postgraduate Diploma.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a children and young people mental health setting.
• 1+ year of clinical competence and experience working with Autistic and/or LD individuals.

Responsibilities

• Work with young people admitted to the inpatient ward with ASD/LD.
• Develop and support positive behaviour and communication plans under supervision.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to meet therapeutic needs and complete course requirements.
