Job summary

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust is offering a one-year full-time training post for healthcare/Trainee psychologists working with children and young people with ASD/LD in an inpatient setting. The role involves applying learning from weekly teaching to practical clinical interventions under supervision.

You will train through a dual pathway with UCL/Anna Freud, and upon completion qualify for a UCL Postgraduate Diploma. The program is government-funded by NHSE.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children and young people admitted to the inpatient ward
• Support development of positive behaviour support plans and communication plans
• Provide supervised clinical work to meet therapeutic needs of young people with ASD/LD
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions
