Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Recruit to Train Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist to join the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme. The role combines clinical CBT training with a 12-month fixed-term contract, working closely with university and service supervisors.

You will study at Derby University while delivering supervised CBT interventions to children and families, with two university days per week and travel

Qualifications

• Essential: Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree.
• Essential: Registered Mental Health Nurse or HCPC registered professional relevant to Childrens mental health.
• Essential: Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
• Desirable: Experience of working within CAMHS.

Responsibilities

• Provide CBT interventions for children, young people and families under Service and University guidance and supervision.
• Carry out comprehensive formulation of needs and develop treatment plans based on negotiated goals and evidence-based interventions.
• Adhere to the BABCP code of standards and ethics.
• Work with the multi-disciplinary team to review progress towards goals using recommended outcome measures, involving service users and carers.

Education

Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree
