Job summary

Nottingham City Council is recruiting 2 Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Therapists to undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT at the University of Derby starting January 2027. The trainees will work within the Nottingham City Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) and train through teaching blocks and weekly sessions, with travel to Derby expected.

Applicants must meet criteria for CBT training with a BABCP-recognised background in mental health or a core profession, and may need a Key Skills and

Qualifications

• Direct experience as a practitioner in a child/young person mental health setting or education setting.
• Knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions and evidence-based practice.
• Good communication skills with children, young people, families and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT at the University of Derby starting January 2027.
• Work as part of Nottingham City Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) with training blocks and weekly teaching/supervision days.
• Be willing to travel to Derby and meet BABCP accreditation criteria upon completion.
