Evans Cycles in Chester is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in running the store day-to-day, lead the team, drive sales, and deliver excellent customer experiences. You’ll combine retail management skills with a passion for cycling to inspire your team and ensure smooth operations.

You will coach staff on product knowledge and service, manage stock, merchandising, cash handling, scheduling, and payroll, while promoting a safe and compliant environment and gathering

• Retail management or supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership and motivational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager to lead and motivate the team to deliver excellent service and achieve sales targets.
• Set high standards for customer experience and ensure consistency.
• Coach team on product knowledge, selling techniques and service excellence.
• Oversee merchandising standards to keep the store well-presented and commercially strong.
• Assist with staff training and development.
• Support inventory management including stock levels, restocking, and accuracy checks.
• Oversee cash handling procedures and store operations, including opening and closing duties.
• Promote a safe, compliant, and well-organised store environment.
• Gather customer feedback and share ideas to improve store performance.
• Carry out administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and reporting as required.
